But in a completely new way. Hello Hiyou.

Curious about a person nearby? Ever wished you said hello, but didn't dare/had the time/knew what to say at the time, etc? There are many excuses. We know them all. In real life, face-to-face communication makes us uncomfortable. You are not alone. Most of us find it extremely difficult to approach random strangers. Social spontaneity is dying.

Not anymore.

HOW?

Hiyou uses all the best bits of tech to spark real connections with the people right around you. Right here. Right now. Hiyou is a communication platform that connects other Hiyousers within a visible range from each other. Hiyou reflect real-life meetings. Upload your image and look who's nearby. Click on the image and start the conversation.

WYSIWYG

Unlike dating apps / social media where you can assume any identity and hide behind a screen, Hiyou is about real people in real life. You should be the person you claim to be – profile picture, gender, age, and intention. Smile, be yourself and let life happen. If you are the shy type, you might send a message incognito and open your face later.

PRIVACY

We're all about bringing strangers together. But of course, privacy is important. That's why we don't read your Hiyou chats (unless we're investigating any reported misuse). Chats are stored on our platform for a maximum of 24 hours. After that, they're gone. And if you ever delete your Hiyou app, all in-app data disappears too. Unless we're checking on reported misuse, nothing in Hiyou gets saved.

The information you give when setting up your Hiyou profile – your phone number, your age, gender, and profile image – is the basics to make the app a pleasant experience. We don't sell or pass on your data to anyone. We'll never use it to sell you stuff or creep you out.

Hiyou is here to bring people together. Everyone should be able to enjoy it. So, we have a zero-tolerance approach to abuse, hate, scams, threats, bullying. We will happily, promptly, and permanently block anyone who breaks our behavior code.

BEING SMART AND SAFE WITH HIYOU

Only connect with someone in Hiyou if you can be sure they're the person in their photo. Because Hiyou is all about the people right around you right now, you'll probably be able to see them if you look around.

Can't see them? Why don't you just ask them to send some new profile pictures performing a simple task – like holding up a certain number of fingers, or pulling a specific face?

Just passed the person in the escalator? Don't' worry - the person will stay in the app a few minutes after leaving. Be fast and add him or her to favorites. After that, you will have 24 hours to act. Otherwise, the moment might be lost.

We're big fans of getting together in real life. That's why Hiyou chats end after 24 hours. Want to chat longer? Reconnect or move to another channel. But if it feels good, safe, and secure, get off your phones and say hi in real life.

There's no weirdo-filter built into Hiyou. Yet. One day with AI, we'll be able to detect and manage bad language and strange behavior. But until then, please report anything that doesn't feel ok and block users who misuse this platform. This helps us protect you, other users, and makes Hiyou better for everyone.

The same goes for the good stuff. Tell us what you like, what works, how we can improve.

So now, get out there. Look up. Notice who's right around you right now. Who will you Hiyou first?

Finally, this is us: Co-Lo Interactions AB. We used to go out, see incredible people we liked the look of - and do nothing (except go home and kick ourselves). To stop ourselves thinking 'If only I'd..' we created Hiyou.
