Hoge Veluwe Augmented Reality

Discover the stories of De Hoge Veluwe National Park and their founders, Anton and Helene Kröller-Müller, with augmented reality. This app shows you hiking, cycling and car routes in which the history of the Park comes to life. Even better, you will not only experience history, you will become part of it yourself! The in-app navigation makes it easy for you to find your way in the Park. Stories and images along the way will tell you all about historical places and events in the Park.

When you arrive at one of the points of interest, use the camera function of your phone to scan the environment, and you will discover what has happened there in the past. You can take an picture together with Prince Hendrik or with the architect H.P. Berlage. Depending on what you prefer, you can see the Park through the eyes of Anton or Helene Kröller-Müller. There is also a route especially for children. They can have their picture taken together with all sorts of Park animals, and become part of a real Van Gogh painting!
This app is perfect for a family or group activity: everyone can choose their own theme or person, and tell the others what they have learned about the Park.

This app has been developed by Studio Kort and is commissioned by Foundation De Hoge Veluwe National Park.

Because of its unique combination of nature and art, De Hoge Veluwe National Park can’t be compared to any other place in the world. It’s the perfect location to experience serenity and to see extraordinary landscapes and wild animals, and also to take part in group activities such as excursions, guided tours, workshops and events. It’s possible to discover the overwhelming natural environment of the Park (5.400 hectare) on your own, for example by using the White Bicycles that are freely available. The landscape is constantly changing; various kinds of forests alternate with heath lands, stretches of grass and exotic-looking areas of drifting sands.
