HollerBack

HollerBack is a simple messaging app for time-sensitive communications. When sending a message you can specify how long until the message expires. If the recipient doesn't respond before the time passes, the message will be removed from their side of the conversation.

Why?
As a parent one often find themselves with the opportunity or need to schedule playdates. Sending a text message to a group of other parents isn't always ideal, because you could multiple positive responses, but you're only equipped to handle one child. Alternatively, you send a message to one other parent, but since there was no response after 20 minutes, you send a message out to someone else, and then both respond, and you're in the same situation.
A similar example is when you need to arrange a babysitter: messaging all could result in more people wanting to babysit.
Thus we came up with the idea that if you could send a time-limited message to one person then you could reduce the potential for multiple responses when you only want one.

How Does It Work
Just like with other messaging apps, you select the person you want to send a message to, enter the message, and then you can indicate how long (in minutes) the message will be valid. You can also choose to not set an expiry time, and the message will remain in the conversation message list.
The message will be sent but if the receiver doesn't respond before the message expires, the message will be removed.

Limitations
This is not meant to be a replacement for SMS, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, or other messaging/chat applications. As such, it does not have the features of those apps such as group chat, video chat, or sending pictures or video.
