What is it about?

The Hughes App is the first of its kind, Navigation, and Weather communications tool, connecting Hughes valued customers directly to various channels within the Hughes organisation. It incorporates SMS into various reporting and notification features internally and externally. Each user will be required to register before being able to use the Hughes App. After validation, subscribers will have access to their Special Instrument Procedures (SIAPs) as well as weather and NOTAMS associated with these navigation procedures. The use of the Hughes App is free of charge to existing Hughes customers. Non-Hughes customers can subscribe through the Apple store. Subscribers will only have access to their own SIAP charting products. Subscribers can list their base airport/heliport along with other favourites, along with their aircraft and avionics. Whenever the Hughes App is opened, it will automatically pull weather, NOTAMS and current SIAP charting. Hughes SIAP charting features a scannable QR inventory code in the lower left-hand corner of the Plan View. When submitting a report or request to Hughes, the App will allow the subscriber to either scan the QR code or select the chart from the library. The subscriber can also access their inventory of current and future instrument procedures that are in development to view the current status. A robust Reporting menu is available to provide instant notifications and communications. For example, if a subscriber wishes to report an obstacle, a geo-referenced camera will appear and allow the subscriber to capture up to (3) geotagged images and submit the report. In three easy steps, Hughes App subscribers can report an obstacle on the fly in a matter of seconds. (1. Open App 2. Select Report an Obstacle. When prompted, select the affected procedure & use the geo-referencing camera & submit.)
