The demands of teaching a large group of children in a busy classroom, within limited time, poses a challenge for many educators to attend to all children individually. Following consultation with teachers and parents about the limited resources available to them, Hazel Lekkas and Suzi Josevski, Educational Speech Pathologists, created Hungry For Words.
A pioneer in the Australian digital literacy space, Hungry For Words provides a levelled approach to developing and strengthening early phonological awareness skills in children.
In Hungry For Words, children are provided with learning experiences, positively encouraged and rewarded based on their responses. It is based on therapeutic techniques, that we use on a daily basis within therapy sessions, but brought to life in a new medium.
