It all began in June 2009, when the original I Dig It was released for iPhone. Then came the globe-trotting edition I Dig It Expeditions for iPhone the following November. And then I Dig It HD for iPad arrived on the scene in 2010. Now, over half a decade later, out of the blue comes a new title in the I Dig It digging game series from InMotion Software. Enter: I Dig It Remastered.

Keep diggin. As the game’s story goes, farmer Lewis has converted an old bulldozer into a high-tech “diggin” machine to help him cope with the hard times. You can use the virtual joystick or the touchscreen to control the diggin machine, making sure to avoid rocks and caverns while searching for buried “diggins.”

Keep upgrading

Keep upgrading. As the player, you have to help farmer Lewis quickly dig up stuff to sell so that he can pay the mortgage and save his farm. To succeed, you need to upgrade your digger and manage fuel, temperature, and damage. I Dig It Remastered also features four mini-game challenge matches and an open-ended mode for you to play.

What is it about?

As its name suggests, I Dig It Remastered is an enhanced version of the first I Dig It digging game. It’s basically the original game, but it features a new engine, graphics improvements, and interface tweaks. And unlike any of its predecessors, it’s compatible with iPad as well as iPhone.

For those who...

  • ... liked any of the previous games in the I Dig It series.

Not for those who...

  • ... don't enjoy digging and upgrading games.

Why we love it

If you’re a fan of any of the older I Dig It titles, particularly the original, and you’re keen to play I Dig It in an enhanced version that’s optimized for both iPhone and iPad, then I Dig It Remastered is for you. And even if you haven’t played any of the previous games in the I Dig It series, I Dig It Remastered may just be the game to introduce you to the pleasure and pressure of taking the helm of a high-tech “diggin” machine.
