What is it about?

IKA® provides high shear mixing solutions to a breadth of industries, including cosmetic, food,pharmaceutical, chemical, plastics and oil refining – just to name a few. High shear mixing is the art of creating a solid/liquid or liquid/liquid homogenization through the use of rotor – stator technology. The IKA® shear calculator gives the user the ability to calculate the shear that the IKA® high shear equipment is creating. The calculator calculates shear rate for our Dispax Reactor (DR), High Speed Dispax Reactor (DRS), MHD (Mixing Homogenizing and Dispersing) and Ultra Turrax (UTL). The calculator also lends the ability to calculate the shear of non-IKA equipment by entering the values for the governing parameters used to calculate tip (circumferential) speed, shear frequency and shear rate.
