Remember those times when all you kids perched on wooden ‘paatas’ around a slate onto which you had traced a gameboard with chalk, threw tamarind seeds or cowrie shells and played an exhilarating game of Indian Ludo? Mind you, it wasn’t just the kids. Everyone joined in – parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousin – and a boisterous time was had by all!
Now you can relive those moments with this India Ludo game, and play with family members and friends no matter where they are. And if you’ve never played it before, then here’s a chance to discover a digital version of a favorite traditional game. Play your childhood game Indian Ludo on your smartphone now.

Rules
Indian Ludo is a board game where two, three, or four players take turns to throw cowrie shells and move their tokens along an outer and then an inner circle, to reach the center-most square.
You can play against the computer (Play with Computer mode); or with others who are in the same place as you, using the same device (Local Multiplayer mode), or with others who are in different locations (Online Multiplayer mode or Play with Friends mode).
Each player gets four tokens to place in their “home” square. You then take turns tossing four cowrie shells.

Points:
• If all four cowries land face up (open), you get 4 points.
• If all four cowries land face down (closed), you get 8 points.
• If one, two, or three cowries land face up (open), you get 1, 2, or 3 points respectively.

Consecutive Throws in a Single Turn:
• If you throw a 4 or 8, then you can move your token and throw them again.

Killing Competitor Tokens:
You have to kill at least one competitor token in the outer circle to be allowed to move into the inner circle. You can kill a competitor token by landing your token in the same square.

Playing After Achieving a Win State:
Once you get all your tokens into the center square, you’ve won. That doesn’t mean you have to stop playing. You can continue to play and create additional hurdles for your competitors!
For any of your throws, you can lock the inner circle square in front of your “home” square. If a competitor lands in that square, they are locked in and need to throw the same number to escape. On escaping, they can only move by one square.
