What is it about?

Nowadays, the Cataract and Refractive Lensectomy Surgeon has at his disposal dozens of models of Intraocular Lenses (IOLs), which can cover different needs of the patient in terms of visual demand for far, intermediate and near distances. Moreover, these IOLs make use of different optical technologies, which can lead to confusion in the selection of the most appropriate IOL for each case. To simplify this problem, we can leave the optical technology used by each lens in the background, prioritizing the decision making based on the clinical results we can expect with each IOL. Based on this concept, the so-called "Functional Classification of Intraocular Lenses" was created by the R&E Department of Qvision headed by Dr. Joaquín Fernández, which aims to group IOLs according to their similarity in the clinical results provided. We need, therefore, a source of information that allows us, quickly and easily, to know what results we could expect in terms of visual acuity, contrast sensitivity, or patient reported outcomes.

IOLEvidence synthesizes the results reported in scientific publications, and evaluates the quality of the evidence of those publications. With this application you will be able to answer, in seconds, questions that would require weeks or months of reading and interpreting scientific articles, among them:

1. For which IOLs is there evidence and which ones provide a greater volume of scientific evidence?
2. What is the quality level of the evidence we are consulting?
3. What visual acuity can we expect at far, intermediate and near distances, with and without distance correction?
4. What range of functional vision can the patient achieve for a given level of visual acuity?
5. How is Contrast Sensitivity affected in distance vision for different lighting conditions?
and many other questions...

In this App you can also find rapid learning videotutorials, focused on explaining a theoretical concept or answering a clinical question, in an approximate time of about 5 min per lesson.

The application is based on a Freemium model, downloading the App you will have access for free to the following options:
1.- Visualization of the 20 most recent synthesized and evaluated reports.

A PRO version is also included with several options such as:
1.- Visualization of all reports, more than 300 synthesized and evaluated, and periodic updating with the inclusion of new reports.
2.- Visualization of Rapid Learning lessons that will be uploaded periodically.
