- Find out what has worked for other people.
- Engage in conversation, without the discomfort of joining a face-to-face or video call group.
- Build friendships through mutual experiences.
- Learn more about addiction and coping mechanisms .
- Be signposted to the most relevant professional help for your situation.
- Reach out when you need to, whatever time of day, to somebody who understands.
How it works:
- Tell us about yourself and your loved one’s addiction, all anonymously. By design we collect no personally identifying information, so you can be confident in your anonymity and safety on IsThereSomebody.
- We match your profile to others with a similar profile and experience to you. You can expect your matches to be of a similar age range to you, in a similar relationship to their friend or loved one (e.g. husband, daughter, parent), and dealing with similar addictions.
- Read others stories, connect and chat with your matches to get support with specific issues or just to vent to them. All messages shared on the app are encrypted, so nobody other than you and the person you’re messaging can see what you say. You can also block, report or remove a connection at any time so you’re in full control over who you talk to.
- Your profile lets us recommend specific professional organisations that may be able to help you and your loved one. If one-on-one support from other members isn’t enough, we provide easy access to professional organisations that can provide resources and services to help those living with friends and family struggling with addiction.
