ITIS Lite

Tuberculosis (TB) remains a major problem in the Philippines as the country ranks fourth globally in terms of incidence based on the 2019 WHO Global Tuberculosis Report and fares lowest in terms of national performance compared with the ASEAN neighbors.

Under-notification of TB cases remains a perennial problem that the Department of Health (DOH) aims to improve. Mandatory notification of TB is essential for routine surveillance and for determining the burden of disease in the country. It also provides data to detect outbreaks and to plan, implement, and evaluate healthcare programs.

The Comprehensive Tuberculosis Elimination Plan Act (Republic Act No. 10767, section 12) requires all public and private health centers, hospitals, and facilities to observe the national protocol on TB management and to notify the DOH of all TB cases.

The Integrated Tuberculosis Information System (ITIS) Lite is the official application of the DOH Philippines for the TB mandatory notifications by all public and private providers. This application was developed and maintained by the Knowledge Management and Information Technology Service of DOH.
