What is IWSP?
Allow me to explain the acronym IWSP and Integrated Wellness Science and Practice.
Integrated-
The death of an organism results in the disintegration of all the organs and the cells of the body. Conversely, therefore the integration of the organs and the body's cells is life. One of the cardinal laws of nature is interdependence. An efficient way to navigate interdependence in nature is through harmonizing with nature by living an integrated life. It requires integrating body, mind, and spirit on a macro level.
This principle of interdependence and integration is equally true on a micro-level. All the cells of our body are closely integrated. Do you find it difficult to believe? Let us investigate scientifically. Let us say you ate a sugary candy or drank a sweetened beverage. When the sugary substance reaches your bloodstream, all the tiny cells lining the inside of the blood vessel begin to bathe in sugary blood. Immediately your pancreas is activated to produce insulin. Your skeletal muscles become ready to absorb the sugar to burn it and have energy. Your liver cells become active to store unused sugar as glycogen in the liver. When the liver is saturated with sugar, it sends the rest of the sugar for storage as fat. And this results in truncal obesity and metabolic syndrome. Just imagine how efficiently this cascade becomes activated in the twinkle of an eye. This is just one example of fantastic integration at the cellular level between the gut, stomach, blood vessels, skeletal muscles, pancreas, liver, and fat storage cells in the body.
Wellness-
Holistic wellness encompasses a healthy body and a healthy mind and spirit.
Your wellness is as strong as the weakest cell in your body. Do you find it hard to believe? Let us investigate it scientifically. The cancers that develop in our bodies spread and devour our bodies begin with the abnormality of one single cell. Then, a single unhealthy cell begins to multiply rapidly, creates a clone, develops growth, and continues to multiply until it becomes cancerous and then spreads to the rest of the body. Therefore, wellness must be understood and practiced at the cellular level by understanding genetic, molecular, and metabolic processes. Wellness, therefore, must permeate every cell of your body for you to enjoy comprehensive wellness.
Science-
Sound knowledge is the foundational rock of practice. Therefore, before you begin to practice, you must ensure that your technique is scientifically validated, and evidence-based.
We need to follow wellness principles that are rooted and well-grounded in science. The observations and experimentation should be transparent. The conclusions should be rational. And the recommendations should be verified and published and verifiable by you.
The selected studies, principles, and practices recommended in the IWSP are scientifically validated and published in peer-reviewed journals.
Practice-
When it comes to wellness, practice is the key to success. Understanding why and how wellness works inspire and help you reinforce good habits. Our practice methodology starts slowly and builds coordination with repetition. We believe that continuous practice performed collectively is profoundly motivational.
