karmist is a free app that connects people who need help, with people who want to help. For instance, have you ever needed help moving a couch, changing a flat tire, or putting together a shelf but it didn’t make sense to pay a professional a lot of money to do it for you? With karmist, you can connect with people who will help you for free, the only price is good karma and new friendships.

HOW:
Using karmist is as easy as using a ridesharing app. Simply post your request for help using the app, other karmist users will then discover your request and connect with you. The app’s messaging and mapping features makes coordinating your meetup easy.

karmist was created after our founder attempted to organize a boat rescue for victims of Hurricane Harvey in Houston. After being frustrated with the inability to find where the help was needed, the idea for an app that helps connect people who need help, with those who want to help was born. As we grow, our mission will always be to create a positive impact on the world by making it easy and fun for people to help each other.

About Background Services
Karmist aims to connect people who need help with those who can offer assistance. The app was inspired by the difficulty in coordinating relief efforts after Hurricane Harvey. People who use Karmist are notified when someone nearby, within a user-specified radius, request assistance. We use background persistent location to enable this crucial service in order to provide the quickest response from the nearest Karmist user.
