This app contains child friendly dialogue images that can encourage and stimulate children’s language development. The images can support and help children to articulate thoughts, feelings and experiences. In the same time, you can gain insight into your child's life, and your child will gain a better understanding of daily experiences, problems and reactions. This way, your child will experience that the adults take time to and are willingly to listen and to provide support. This app contains a series of dialogue images, which can be applied in storytelling and conversations.

The app “Kids’ Life” contains 64 dialogue images of a puppy, its family, friends and everyday activities. The images are divided into four categories: Category 1: Family (18 images), Category 2: Day Care and School (18 images), Category 3: Spare Time (18 images) and Category 4: Emotions (10 images). The images contain some examples of image text and questions, which can be viewed by pressing the “Examples” button in the dialogue images.

ABOUT DIALOGUE IMAGES:
Images are a visual starting point for talking about a given matter, which give the child a tangible approach to the dialogue. With the pictures as their starting point, the child and the adult are able to create a story together. This makes it possible to talk about the concrete elements in the pictures as well as the child’s opinions and feelings toward the present image. Parents and other adults can help the child relate the dialogue image to his or her own experiences in life. This way, the adult gains insight into the child’s daily life and will have the option of providing alternative courses of action, in case the child is in need of a fresh perspective on problematic situations encountered in everyday life.

REVIEW, iPHONE MOM - EXCERPT:
Let’s face it. Being a kid now days is a tough business. (...). It is crucial to maintain open and honest communication with your children so that when they have questions or concerns about things they see or hear or experience, they feel comfortable coming to their parents or other caregivers for information rather than seeking it out from other sometimes unreliable sources. Kids’ Life and Kids’ Grief are the tools you need to open that conduit of communication and maintain it.

Both of these apps provide parents with the building blocks they need for open conversations with their children. The apps feature kid-friendly, hand drawn pictures of an animated puppy. This puppy, which they call Julius, is shown in several different situations portraying several different emotions. Parents select the image that they wish to dialogue about. The app gives you example statements of how to open up the conversation as well as asking questions to prompt your child to keep talking about the image and how to relate it to their lives and what they might be experiencing. The app also gives you tips on active listening and how to keep your child engaged in the conversation and let them know that you are listening to what they are saying and interested in them. (...) Both apps do a fantastic job of providing information and preliminary education for parents before diving into the dialogue aspects of the exercises. (...). I would highly recommend both apps to parents, teachers and caregivers.
