App Store Description

Kit4Kid is a digital tool children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) starting from 3 years old. The mobile application includes set of exercises to develop the skills of comparison and distinction, which are important in program construction within the framework of aclinically proven established ABA Model.

Tasks:

Matching– the child needs to match the image with an identical or similar picture. With the complication of levels the number of images and the number of required correct answers increases.

Distinction – the child must correctly answer the question “Show where...” by selecting the correct option from the group of images. Tasks become more complicated with each level. In addition to selection of specific items, it is also necessary to determine their characteristics and functions correctly.

Categories – the child needs to determine which category a certain object belongs to. For example, an “apple” is a “fruit”, and a “chair” is a “furniture” category.
Sequences – the child needs to arrange pictures in a certain logical order. The task provides 3 levels of difficulty, where the simplest shows a sequence of 2 pictures, and at the most difficult level – of 5.

Verbs – the child is to answer the question associated with the action, and determine which of the images of a particular action is shown.

Find the object in the picture – this task is both entertaining and educational. The child needs to find specific objects in the story picture. Exercise develops attention to details, helping to learn how to concentrate on a particular object.

All Kit4Kid tasks are designed to develop important cognitive skills of children on spectrum. They can be used not only in the framework of educational program, but also for a productive and interesting pastime in conditions that may seem stressful for a child: in an airplane during a long flight, in a car, in a queue to the doctor, in a noisy public place, and in general everywhere, where there is often no possibility to take the child something useful. A large number of images allows you to create a huge variety of different combinations, and the use of photo images in combination with drawn illustrations allows expand the perception of the child, learn how to compare the reality with the image and it makes this activity more exciting and varied.

For the convenience of adult users who monitor the process (parents or specialists), this application allows you to create simultaneously different profiles for several children, track the success statistics, draw conclusions about the learning progress, add comments and share data with other users involved in the process.

Performing tasks will not cause negative emotions to the child, because in case of incorrect answer he will have an unlimited number of attempts to choose the right option. At the same time, the correctness of answers is always recorded in statistics, which is available to the main user (parent/specialist) in the personal profile of a child.

Kit4Kid application is an additional tool for teaching children with autism to generalize skills of working with visual components. Kit4Kid's set of tasks can also be easily used for lessons with any child. A variety of exercises and their levels of difficulty contributes to the development of memory and attention to details, helps to learn the colors, names, components and characteristics of many items that occur in everyday life.
