App Store Description

Kivo Colours is a classic code-breaking strategy game. The code is made up of four colours in sequence, e.g. red-blue-green-yellow. You have to work out the correct colours and the correct order.

With each go, hints are provided enabling you to figure out the correct sequence.

Three modes of play provide challenges from Classic to Expert.

Are you up to the challenge?

How to Play

Choose colours by tapping on the relevant colour at the bottom of the screen, or drag and drop it into place. They can be re-ordered at any time by dragging and dropping, and colours can be removed from your guess by tapping on them.

When you think you have the correct colours in the right order, tap the green arrow key on the right.

Hints are provided if you get any colours correct. A red hint indicates you got a correct colour in the correct place. A white hint means you got a correct colour, but in the wrong place. The order of the hints is not relevant.

So, for example, if the code was pink-blue-green-yellow, and you choose pink, yellow, blue, cyan, you’ll get a red hint for the pink in the correct place, ane two white hints for the yellow and blue in the wrong order. You get no hint for the cyan as it's not in the code.

There are three modes. In Classic mode, there can only be one of each colour in the code. In Hard mode, there can be duplicates, so for example, the code could be red-red-blue-blue, or even 4 reds.

If there are duplicate colours in your guess, they cannot all be awarded a hint unless they correspond to the same number of duplicate colours in the hidden code. For example, if the hidden code is green-green-blue-blue and you guess green-green-green-blue, you’ll get two red hints for the two correct greens in the right places, and a red hint for the blue in the correct place. You won’t get a hint for the third green, as there are only two greens in the solution.

In Expert mode, there can be duplicates, but one of the slots may also be empty, e.g. the solution could be blue-[nothing]-green-yellow. No hints are provided for the empty slot!
