Kindergarten Phonics Videos & Games for Level 2:
In this app, children will review the short vowel sounds (a, e, i, o, u). Special attention will be given to short 'i', 'o' & 'u'. They will learn to blend and read words from the word families ig, in, ock, ox, ub & ug. Children will also learn to hear ending consonant sounds and also for the first time be introduced to ending blends and digraphs (ng, ck, nd, nt, nk, qu). All of these steps are important in learning to blend and read words and sentences. There are decodable video stories which are meant to help learners see the use of these word families in sentences while inexplicitly introducing a few high frequency sight words. The videos and games are part of our Kindergarten Level 2 phonics program on http://www.kizphonics.com/phonics-program/kindergarten-level-2/
This app works great with our KIZ PHONICS BOOK 3 for Kindergarten Level 2. It is a great complementary product.
VIDEOS: First, children will watch and learn words with the word families in, ig, ock, ox, ub & ug. Then they will focus on the ending & beginning consonants b, d, f, g, k, l, m, n, p, s, t, v, x, y & z. The concept of blends and digraphs will be introduced with the ng, nd, nk, nt, ck, qu digraphs and blends.
There are 4 short stories aimed at extending practice of short 'i', 'o', 'u' and the 'n' blends with related word families.
GAMES: Every video is accompanied by a drag and drop activity or two to help practice what was taught in the videos. These games will ensure that learners have enough practice to learn and master the core concepts of this level. At the end, your child will be blending consonants and vowel word families to read simple words like pig, dig, bin, block, fox, sub, rug etc. They will also understand the concept of blends and digraphs which will prepare them for the next level.
