The KYRC App also offers tips on how to interact during traffic stops, providing you with the tools you need to navigate these interactions safely and assertively. Moreover, the app provides resources on restorative justice and community-based interventions to support Black and Brown empowerment and police abolition.
The KYRC App has expanded its impact with a new state-by-state guide to immigration rights, including guidance on what to do when approached at work or home, along with best practices. Now available in both English and Spanish, this update is designed to support migrants facing challenges with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), further solidifying the app as a vital source of clarity and understanding during critical moments.
In addition, the KYRC App provides resources for our two important initiatives that aim to empower communities affected by police violence. Our Autopsy Initiative offers free secondary autopsies to families affected by police violence, ensuring that they have access to independent and impartial investigations of their loved ones' deaths. Additionally, our Legal initiative offers free legal advice to protesters, helping them to assert their rights and defend themselves against unjust arrests and prosecutions.
Colin Kaepernick and his partner, Nessa, founded Know Your Rights Camp (KYRC) in 2015 in response to police terrorism against BLACK AND BROWN PEOPLE.
The Know Your Rights Camp app is free and available to download on iOS devices.
