In this app, you can move freely in the garden and walk inside the castle, as if you were in 1889, the great era when Marie Ardoin, daughter of Alexandrine, lived in the castle.
La Mothe-Chandeniers Castle is located in the town of Les Trois-Moutiers in the north of the Vienne department. It was first owned by Marquis François de Rochechouart, then René-Charles de Maupeou, and was bought by François Hennecart in 1809. His daughter, Aimee Alexandrine Hennecart, married Jacques Ardoin, inherited in 1846 and transformed the castle in this eclectic neo-Gothic style that we still see today, despite the fire of 1932 that destroyed almost everything.
This reconstitution was rigorously established based on historical elements. The façades of the castle have been faithfully reproduced by 3D laser scanning. Inside, the rooms could be refurnished according to the descriptions of the inventories after death, in particular that of Marie Ardoin baronne Lejeune in 1889. As some pieces of furniture still exist, they could thus be scanned and replaced.
The photo-realistic quality of this virtual reconstruction will really give you the feeling of being there.
