App Store Description

LES is a Norwegian developed APP that enables you to “crack the reading code”: which means putting together letter sounds into words. This is for everyone who is going to learn to read Norwegian.

The use of a touch screen to read words is unique in Les:
Run a finger over the letters and hear the words it constructs.

Practice deciphering 200 Norwegian words.

Level 1:30 words with letter sounds s o l a m e r u f å v

Level 2:50 words with all the Norwegian letters.

Games to decode and automate word creation in four categories.

Presentation of all the words with pictures and pronounciations makes this APP very suitable for literacy and for non Norwegian speakers.

It is important with early intervention to prevent reading difficulties.

This APP provides training to pull together phonemes (letter sounds) into words, something that students with dyslexia need to practice a lot.
Reading is a complicated prosess. This APP contributes, during the criticalphase, by binding together letter sounds. This is a phase where pupils begin to learn words by heart, without having understod how to decode unfamilliar words.
A competence goal after second grade is to draw letter sounds together to form words.

The words are straight forward and without complex grapheme and double consonants.

Choose between:
* Big /small letters
* Boy`s voice/girl`s voice
* Flat-r/rolling -r

The words are recognized in both bokmål and nynorsk (new Norwegian)
