About Lexia English Language Development:

Designed specifically for Emergent Bilingual students, also known as ELLs, in grades K–6, Lexia English helps learners acquire higher language proficiency levels of English and supports English language development through academic conversations. Founded on the leading-edge expertise of Lexia, the program blends language learning with subject knowledge to improve academic achievement. From Newcomers to Long-Term English Learners, Lexia English meets all students where they are and targets oral language and grammar skills at a level appropriate for each student’s proficiency. Students progress linguistically and academically at their own pace, thanks to the program’s embedded Speech Recognition Technology that provides immediate, guided, corrective feedback against the backdrop of an encouraging and nonjudgmental environment with respect for heritage culture and language.

Lexia English’s curriculum is aligned with rigorous language proficiency standards including WIDA, CA ELD, TX ELPS, ELPA 21, and NY ESL. Real-time actionable data empower educators to transform instruction, personalize learning for each student, and make data-informed instructional decisions. The program offers additional instructional resources that reinforce students’ online learnings, target individual needs, support and extend lessons, and provide additional opportunities for practice, including writing activities that focus on the same language frames and grammatical conventions that learners are being taught in the program. Continuous progress monitoring offers visibility into student and teacher success and ongoing needs.
