The Link by Nexus app assigns activities to users. These activities involved security tasks such as unlocking or locking property, patrolling or inspecting a vacant property, or responding to an alarm. The app allows users to “Start” an activity by letting us know they are en-route. This provides us with a geolocation so we know how far away they are from the site (i.e. 17 minutes). This provides the user with the benefit that the control room know where they are when working remotely and where they are expected to be in a given period of time. Upon arrival users check in to activity updating their location status for benefits previously stated. A user then completes an activity by completing questions and taking photos before completing the activity. Their location and activity status is then updated and the user will “start” a new activity, again updating their whereabouts.
The purpose of the above is from a reporting point of view to ourselves and clients but also for the safety of the user who is remote working.
The user also has access to additional information such as site addresses, contact telephone numbers etc. The app is built to work offline so they have this information regardless of their service.
