Listening Deck

Facing difficulty in listening to a foreign language is probably one of the most common challenges faced by learners of foreign languages. Listening Deck empowers users to train their language listening skill in sync to their learnings in vocabulary and grammar rules of the language.

Using this app, you can build up your own learning material as decks of content by converting any text content of the language into verbal form. And, using one of the 4 learning modes provided within the app to practice and strengthen your language listening skill using those content anytime, anywhere.

In this way, this app will make your language learning become more aligned and in context. Whatever you are learning in text form, may it be vocabulary or sentence structures, you would be able to pick those vocabulary or sentences up as well with your listening skill.

Listening to the language is probably one of the most challenging aspects in learning a language. This app would be very useful in overcoming that challenge.


There are 4 learning modes provided by the app which covers different learning scenarios that most people would likely face in training their listening skill:

1. Loop Mode

Under this mode, the app will “speak” a set of content in a repeated loop until you stop it. With this mode, you could repeatedly listening to the target language whenever you have pocket of free time, anytime, anywhere.

You could configure the app to “speak” the content in target language and your native language in any sequence. For example, you could let it “speak” the vocabulary of the target language, and then “speak” the meaning of the vocabulary in your native language before proceeding to “speak” the next vocabulary in target language, and so on…

With this app, now you can keep on listening as and when convenient to you.

2. Schedule Mode

Being able to listen to a language is also a form of memory. We are trying to remember the corresponding meaning of each (combination of) pronunciation.

This mode uses a smart algorithm (called spaced repetition) to find the right time to revise each content based on your natural forgetting curve. This mode lets you revise those content that needs a memory boost as identified by the algorithm.

3. Random Mode

This mode enables you to conduct a self-testing on how well you are able to listen to and recall the content that you have saved into the app by playing those content randomly to you.

4. Reinforce Mode

This mode enables you to laser focus your revision only on those content that you have not remembered well in the past.
