Most literacy apps are based on a written language and assume that the student speaks it

Litera Wolof

by Fabio Chen

What is it about?

Most literacy apps are based on a written language and assume that the student speaks it. For those who do not speak the written language, they must first learn it before they can become literate. Thus, there is a gap between the student who only speaks an oral (unwritten) language and most literacy apps.

App Store Description

Most literacy apps are based on a written language and assume that the student speaks it. For those who do not speak the written language, they must first learn it before they can become literate. Thus, there is a gap between the student who only speaks an oral (unwritten) language and most literacy apps.

LITERA is an attempt to fill this gap. LITERA is based directly on the oral language of the student. Not only does LITERA enable the student to learn the literacy mechanism in his/her own language, it now allows the student to quickly learn a major written language.
