Prove who you are with just your phone
Lloyds Bank Smart ID, brought to you by Yoti, is a safe way to prove who you are, online and in person, with many UK businesses.
For many of us, signing up to services, buying things and even applying for jobs has moved online. But the way we prove our identity hasn't changed.
With Smart ID, you can safely share verified details like your age, name or address straight from your phone. You’ll only share the details you need to and nothing you don’t – so you stay in control of your data.
Smart ID now has approval from the government-backed Proof of Age Standards Scheme (PASS) and comes with a PASS hologram. This means you can use your Smart ID as proof of age at many places.
Smart ID offers a safe way to:
• Securely store your ID documents, like your passport. With smart notifications when they’re about to expire.
• Prove your age or identity in person at many Post Offices, cinemas and convenience stores. But you can’t use it to buy alcohol yet.
• Prove your age or identity online for things like Right to Work checks .
• Swap verified details with other Smart ID users to confirm who they are.
Just so you know, at the moment, you can't use Smart ID to access your Lloyds Bank mobile banking app or to manage any of your Lloyds Bank banking products.
Explore this early version of the app and look out for improvements and even more places where you can use Smart ID coming soon. Keep an eye on the Explore section.
Register in minutes
You don’t need to be a Lloyds Bank customer to get a Smart ID. Anyone over the age of 13 can register.
Creating your Smart ID is simple. Just follow these steps:
• Download the app.
• Enter your age and country of residence.
• Consent to a face scan, the Terms and Conditions, and Privacy Policy.
• Add your mobile number and create a five-digit PIN.
• Take a face scan.
To get the most out of your Smart ID, you’ll need add a government-approved ID document like a passport or driving licence. If you don’t have a government-approved ID document, you can still use Smart. You can share your photo, email address and mobile number with people or businesses. But to share verified details like your name or age, you'll need to add a government-approved ID.
