Mahishaasuramardini is another name for the Mother Goddess Durga Mata; arguable one of the most worshipped of the Indian deities. The Goddess destroyed the invincible Demon King Mahishasura and hence is known by this name.

The Mantra given below is the Mul Mantra of Mahishasura Mardini. This is a most powerful Shakti Mantra. It has also been indicated clearly that this continuous chanting of this Mantra amongst other things enables one to prevail over ones enemies.
