High school students, especially those new to the region or country, face increased instances of isolation, culture shock, loneliness, and depression, but Matawa provides a number of supports to help ease the transition.

Both students and the general public are encouraged to download the app to keep up-to-date with resources and news concerning these issues, as well as volunteer and programming opportunities, tutoring opportunities, sports events, and more at Matawa Learning Centre (Thunder Bay, Ontario).
