App Store Description

Memory Helper App is a free communication tool that enables carers of people living with memory loss, Alzheimers or dementia, to easily communicate with their loved ones or clients by controlling information, reminders and notes on a iPad screen displayed in the Care Receiver's home. It requires no interaction from the Care Receiver who simply views the information on their screen.

The App has been developed as a result of personal experience caring for elderly parents who live independently but have short term memory loss and dementia and therefore required reassurance and reminders for their daily activities. Care Receivers using the App have experienced reduced anxiety and isolation while increasing feelings of engagement with family and carers. There is a marked reduction in the frequency of phone calls to the carer with repetitive questions throughout the day.

The Care Giver can use the App from anywhere they have access to the internet through their iPhones or iPads. This frees them up to travel around but continue sending reminders and messages.

There are 4 main display modes each of which are optional and can be setup by the carer with several display options dependant on suitability:
-Calendar and clock
-Diary (daily or weekly)
-Reminders
-Instant Messages

How It Works:

Memory Helper resides in the home of the person being cared for in the form of a iPad device that sits securely on a stand placed in a position central to the Care Receiver’s movements in the home like the kitchen or bedroom. The Care Receiver just needs to glance occasionally at the iPad and there is no other interaction required.

The Care Receiver’s device requires a WIFI network or internet connection with a SIM card. It’s display is setup and managed over the internet by a Carer/s through their iPhone, laptop or iPad through the Memory Helper APP.
Notification sounds alert the care receiver to new entries when they are added.  Any changes made by the carer are updated within seconds on the care receiver’s display. You may install several devices for the care receiver that will all be synched with the same information.
