Most of the unproductive argument occurs on social media, a new weapon of political warfare where users are protected by the internet's veil and have little accountability for their actions.

It’s not just the radical few who have fallen into the trap of stoking division online. All it takes is a browse through political posts on social media to realize that both sides of the aisle have grown so divided that they can’t seem to agree on anything – and more importantly, often can’t show respect for the views of others.

To accomplish the creation of such a platform, Midway utilizes a random-selection feature to match users with members of either party: two previously unfamiliar people are brought together with the express purpose of finding common ground as Americans.

To prevent platform abuse, Midway contains advanced muting and reporting features. We have a zero-tolerance policy for any sort of hijacking that takes place on our platform. However, to ensure that users are not unfairly banned, we have a nonpartisan review process that ensures that only those with malicious intent are removed.
