The Moore Memorial Park, Cultural Center and Museum is a historical, cultural destination with civil rights significance. The park grounds include a replica of the Moore family home which was destroyed by a bomb blast on Christmas night 1951 during which Harry Moore was killed and his wife fatally injured. The Moores are the first civil rights martyrs and the first couple to be murdered during the civil rights movement.
