The EMA coordinates the resources of City, County, State, and Federal agencies in response to any disaster event in an effort to mitigate the effects and speed the process of recovery from disasters for the citizens of Jacksonville/Morgan County.

The EMA Director also acts as the Chairman of the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC). The LEPC receives information regarding hazardous materials, quantities, and their locations within various facilities throughout Morgan County. This information is available upon request by citizens upon written request.
