The aim of this App has been developed to assist the teaching and learning of the assessment and management of musculoskeletal disorders of the lower limb. It is relevant for both undergraduate and postgraduate AUT physiotherapy students.
The App will guide the student through the process of a subjective interview and objective examination providing a detailed account of the rationale behind the questions asked during the interview and tests performed in the hip, knee and ankle region.
The student will be introduced to specific assessment techniques including ligament instability tests, intra-articular joint tests, and assessment of accessory joint glide.
The principles of applying joint treatment techniques are also introduced with respect to the treatment of joint hypomobility.
The techniques described within this App are detailed through the use of video’s, photographs and supporting text. This resource is not substitute for careful instruction by skilled educators of these techniques.
