App Store Description

Have you ever noticed how your favorite radio station plays new, popular music fairly often, throws in those great classics, and lots of music that you haven’t heard in awhile? My Hit Radio brings this ability to the music that you own, by generating playlists on the fly with your music. Don't let the music that you've bought get stale!

How does it work? Simple. Using easily customizable settings, My Hit Radio generates a playlist based on how you’ve rated the song and the last time you’ve heard it. Highly rated songs are essentially played more often, and lower rated songs, less often. You decide how often to hear them. Optionally, rate your songs with one star, and they will never be included in the playlist that’s generated.

If you’ve already rated some or all of your music, My Hit Radio will work for you. Unrated songs are limited by default so that your playlist has a good mix of rated and unrated music.

If you haven’t rated any of your music, it will work for you too! Just turn off the option to limit unrated songs and you’ll get a large playlist to listen to. When you start to rate songs, you’ll immediately see the benefits of listening to My Hit Radio by hearing your favorite music, more often. You can rate your songs via iTunes on your computer, or while listening to the music by using the iPod app on your device. (Song limiter only adds as many unrated songs as you have rated, so once you rate at least one song your playlist will start expanding, or turn off the limiter to include them all!)

My Hit Radio works together with the iPod app on your device, so when you get a call, the music fades away and starts again when your call is over. When you exit My Hit Radio to check your email or get directions, the music continues to play. Because the dynamic playlist is handed over to the iPod app, you get all the benefits of the native iPod app with a new and dynamic playlist that updates every time you hear a song.

Breathe life into your music with My Hit Radio! If you like the listening experience of the radio or internet radio, or other new and innovative music products, you’ll like listening to your own music in a new and interesting way.

*New!* Select a custom source. My Hit Radio will only play music from selected Genres, Playlists, Artists, Albums, or any combination. Make My Hit Radio more like "My Hit 'Rock' Radio" or My Hit 'Country' Radio!

FAQ:
-------------------------
Q: Why should I use this app? Doesn't shuffle play higher rated songs more often?

A: No, shuffle mode on the iPod doesn't, only the iTunes DJ does this. But, not only does My Hit Radio play your higher rated songs more often, it plays lower rated songs LESS often! You decide how long this should be. All settings are configurable from 1 day to 3 years. And... eliminating songs that are rated 1 star lets you exclude music that you want to keep on your device, but may not want to hear on your commute to work. **NEW** Fully customizable. Turn on and off all the ratings to just listen to your 5 star songs or any other combination!

Q: Can I rate songs in My Hit Radio?

A: Yes! This version of My Hit Radio lets you rate your songs in the app! When you rate an item, the stars will change from grey to blue to signify that the song was rated in the app. The settings page has a listing of such songs, so that you can easily go back and update iTunes later. Any ratings changes made in iTunes or the iPod will be updated to the latest change.

Q: What is skip and defer?

A: For a song to be marked as played, you must listen to a song until the end (iPod and iTunes too). If you skip a song, it could be included in your playlist at any time. "Skip and Defer" will tell My Hit Radio not to play the song until the next time interval for it's star rating. Play count in iTunes is not affected.
