Who are we?
We are at team of researchers at Fenway Health and Harvard University in Boston, MA and Brown University in Providence, RI. The principal investigators are Dr. Katie Biello and Dr. Ken Mayer.
What is this app?
MyChoices is an app that is being tested in multiple cities across the United States to see how young men use a smartphone app for HIV prevention. Only people who are enrolled as participants in the study can access the MyChoices app.
Why do we get personal?
Sometimes the app may ask you some personal questions. These are important questions to ask to help the app help you to best manage your sexual health. Because this is a research study, we do have access to information that you put into the app, but all of this information is kept confidential. None of the information that you share will be linked to any identifying information that you provide. So, that means that your name and your email are kept separate from the rest of your information. The information that you provide is shared through a secure network. All information is stored in secure, password-protected documents.
