Imperial leads the fight against tobacco smuggling. The company has been dedicating important efforts to combat this social and economic scourge with pioneering tools and initiatives.

Since 2015, its activities in this field are grouped under “NO Contrabando” in Spain. In this line, the company launches the first app in Portugal for mobiles and tablets dedicated to raising awareness of society and actively combating illegal trade. The NO Contrabando app allows you to be informed at the minute of all the news that is published on the Imperial platform, and provides a direct access to the mailbox to make anonymous and instantaneous complaints from mobile devices.

Through this type of mail, aimed especially at tobaccos affected by the smuggling scandal, but also available to all professionals in the sector or the general public, Imperial will send to the competent authorities all complaints and denunciations that it receives on actions of smuggling of tobacco or outlets and illicit channels. With this initiative, Imperial Tobacco establishes a new and very simple way to combat tobacco smuggling, which seriously damages society as a whole, given the negative impact of the tax loss on the State, which is estimated to be more than billion per year.
