Naniittuq

These place names and stories have been passed on for generations through our oral storytelling traditions. They are presented here as a modern tool for sharing this knowledge most importantly with our children but also to help others appreciate our relationship with our homeland.

The Naniittuq Place Names Portal is based on participatory mapping used to create a virtual space displaying our Inuit traditional place names and the stories about our land that we have been sharing for generations.
