National Zoological Park

National Zoological Park as is fondly called Delhi Zoo provides a home for endangered species and also helps them to breed in captivity. The park spread over an area of 76.33 hectares (188.62 acres), has well laid lawns and plantation ensuring healthy and inexpensive recreation.
Amenities like wheel chairs, battery cars (paid) water purifiers and water coolers, washrooms, resting seats, cafeteria, and parking (paid) have been regularly developed and modified as per changing times to ensure visitors' convenience.
Here birds and animals live in an environment that in many ways resembles their natural habitat. The zoo houses 1233 animals of 96 species is full of vegetation and presents a natural look. The zoo layout plan of waterways, roads & paths, and animal enclosures with open moat enclosures help visitors see animals without barriers.
A large number of migratory birds visit the artificial ponds and also breed in these facilities.
The zoo is famous for white tiger breeding and has given white Tigers to 11 different Zoos in the country since 1987.
The zoo offers eco-awareness with nature education and interpretative signage as part of the conservation and education program.
