Your mobile guide to NRF Museums and public historic sites.

From the remarkable home of an unconventional heiress, the masterfully crafted collection of Newport furniture, and one of the largest collections of early-American architecture, discover NRF museums and historic sites through this interactive app. Curate your own self-guided experiences at the museums and take self-paced walking tours featuring historic Newport properties.

Rough Point Museum tours: Use the interactive app to find out more about the rooms, collections, and people of Rough Point, the Newport home of Doris Duke. Watch behind-the-scenes videos related to the caretaking of the collections, virtually step inside spaces not on the tour path, and encounter special object highlights.

Whitehorne House Museum tours: Use the interactive app to find out more about the stories of 18th-century colonial Newport furniture-making and the people who made, purchased, displayed, and used the furniture every day. Listen to stories about life, work, and culture in the 18th-century, virtually explore furniture from the inside out, and encounter special object highlights.

About NRF:
Doris Duke (1912-1993) established the Newport Restoration Foundation in 1968 with the intent to preserve the city’s colonial streetscapes. Since then, the organization has grown to include one of the largest collections of early American architecture in the country, two museums, and two public parks. NRF continues Doris’s legacy through the commitment to the preservation of places and through sharing Doris’s story.
