What is it about?

Users of the application can discover this unique volcanic field and learn from the experts the history of its evolution through up-to-date material. The application showcases the geological volcanic paths of Lakki and its three points of interest. The content also includes general information on Nisyros Island, original photographic and video material, a historical timeline of hydrothermal eruptions, topographic map of the Lakki Plain with the points of interest (POIs), digital maps of the volcanic evolution of Nisyros with the six eruptive cycles and the modern state of the hydrothermal field based on scientific data as well as an easy to understand dictionary of terms related to volcanism. Moreover, the application is linked to the official website of the Nisyros Geopark (https://nisyrosgeopark.gr/) and complements the new foldable leaflet of the Lakki Plain.
