App Store Description
The NKMP KoalaCounter app has been developed by the National Koala Monitoring Program to enable ecologists to conduct systematic surveys for koalas. Both single-count and double-count transects are supported. Transects can be mapped against satellite imagery, and photos of habitat/animals can be taken while surveying.
The app uses your phone/tablet's GPS hardware to track your location while you are conducting a survey. The app will continue to track your location as long as you have an active survey, even if you move the app to the background.
Note: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
