Notebook

Notebook is a solid alternative to the web-based or ultra-minimal apps on this list, offering users more flexibility without adding too much complexity. The app uses the now-traditional two pane layout and styles the right pane’s writing area to resemble a traditional notepad. Notebook supports a dense organizational structure, allowing users to file notes into specific notebooks, and to file one or more notebooks into a folder-like “collection,” each of which can be stored locally or synced to Dropbox or Toodledo. Notebook also supports password protecting individual notes, emailing notes as text or as plain text file attachments, or even creating a new todo item in the developer's popular task manager.
