Welcome to Nova Shopping!


Nova Shopping is an exclusive marketplace that allows for college students to buy and
sell products to other college students within their area. Our platform provides an easy
and efficient way to shop within your university’s community, connect and establish
relationships with people at your school, and make quick money throughout the school year.
Features of the App:
● Registration: When you download our app, register and make an account by using your
college email address at your respected school.
● Profile Creation: Easily make a profile by entering your name, date of birth, profile
picture, university’s name, profile picture, and option to make a personalized bio. This is
how other Nova users will see you so stand out!
● Account Page: On the first tab, you have the option to view and edit your profile, as well
as seeing the items you have listed to be sold.
● General Feed: On the main page, you can switch from the “General Feed,” where you’ll
see all listings of items being sold within your area by other students, to the “Your Feed,”
where you’ll see all listings of items being sold by the people you follow on the app. You
can also search for items in your area specifically by name, as well as search for other
traders, or Nova users, by name to follow and see their page.
● Post Listing: When looking to sell an item, we make it simple by asking you to post
pictures and write a description of the product and setting your price. You have the option
of putting an item up for sale or for rental. In terms for rentals, you can place the amount
of time you would like to have the item be rented for.
● Messages: Easily message another user on the app in regards to an item being
sold/bought or simply to introduce yourself and say hello!
● Notifications: Keep track of what is going on in your account by regularly checking your
notification tab, receiving notifications when an item you sold has been purchased or
when somebody has followed you.
● Side Menu: Our side menu provides you with multiple different features for your
convenience to navigate the application, set up important information such as your bank
account, and view who you are following and who is following you!
How It Works:
● Our geolocation services make it so you can only view and communicate with other
students that are within a 10 mile radius of your location. Once you find a product you
like, simply click “Buy” and purchase the item. This will send a notification to the person
selling the item to make them aware. You can then message the other person introducing
yourself and coordinating a place to meet up, usually right there on campus! Once you
are in person, you must scan a QR code on the seller’s phone (The QR code is provided
and can be found in the “See History of Trades” section in the side menu). This will

confirm that you received the right product and complete the transaction of funds. For the
seller, if they deliver the item within 24 hours, Nova will only charge a 10% commission
fee and 15% for after 24 hours. In less than 24 hours, you purchased and received a
product and perhaps made a new friend in the process!
