Capture Mode uses the LiDAR scanner in modern iPhone Pro models (iPhone Pro / Pro Max models post 2012). The Object Capture API reconstructs the data gathered during Capture Mode guided loops into highly detailed 3D models using the on-device photogrammetry pipeline in iOS17+.
