App Store Description

The Ocellus application puts you right inside of the center of the eye to examine various ocular diseases with in-depth, crystal clear magnification provided only by virtual reality! Practice your diagnostic skills, examine rare posterior segment diseases, or show your patients various pathology up-close to help with patient education and comprehension.

This application was created to aid in the education of Optometry and Ophthalmology students, technicians, eye care and other health care practitioners, and even patients. Study ocular disease in a manner more closely to how you would view it in real life... with depth, spacial awareness, and with improved realism that paper images can't provide. Or, impress your patients by showing them the inside of the eye as seen from the doctors chair!

For use with a mobile phone and compatible headset virtual reality viewer. Once on, just move your head in any direction to scan the retina, simulating BIO or Slit Lamp Ophthalmoscopy. Hover over selection points for a description of what you are looking at within posterior segment anatomy. Over 100 retinal diseases included, ranging from more common disease such as Hypertensive Retinopathy to rare conditions such as Vitelliform Macular Dystrophy or Talc Retinopathy. You can even follow the progression of disease by moving through the stages and grades of the condition.

This is an especially useful application for students preparing for their board examinations!

Study new diseases as updates are provided to include a constantly growing collection of conditions
