App Store Description

See the vanished Jewish world of synagogues, schools, stores, and places of daily life that existed in Oświęcim before the Holocaust, in the Augmented Reality.

Before Auschwitz became the ultimate symbol of the Holocaust, it was just an ordinary Polish town known as Oświęcim. The majority of its citizens were Jewish.

This beautiful guide to the Jewish Museum in Oświęcim and the traces of Jewish past in the town lets you make a personal connection to the vanished Jewish world of synagogues, schools, stores, and meeting places that existed before the Holocaust.

Produced by the Auschwitz Jewish Center, this app is a tribute to over 400 years of Jewish history in Oświęcim which was overshadowed by the tragedy of Auschwitz and the Holocaust.

This app includes also German, Hebrew and Polish translations.

Oshpitzin. The Town known as Auschwitz was made possible through generous funding from the Consulate General of the German Federal Republic and the Dutch-Jewish Humanitarian Fund.

Oszpicin.

Aplikacja powstała dzięki wsparciu Konsulatu Generalnego Niemieckiej Republiki Federalnej oraz holenderskiej fundacji The Dutch Jewish Humanitarian Fund.
