Petstapost is a social network for pet photos, combining the benefits of social media and happiness of animals.

Researchers all over the world have produced findings detailing why looking at social networking sites can make you feel depressed. Too much use can cause loneliness, worry, and envy. But why do we continue to use them? Because we also love being connected, we’re bored, we need breaks. Additional research has shown that looking at pictures of cute animals, rather than our friends’ happy moments, can actually increase our productivity. Petstapost is the way to mix together the connection with friends and the photos that make us happier.

Petstapost donates 100% of all profits to organizations that save abused animals, including the Humane Society, the ASPCA, and our local organization Austin Pets Alive. A pet is abused every 60 seconds. Rescue organizations on a national and local level are saving those pets every day by getting them into foster care and shelters. In addition, each year 7.6 million pets enter animal shelters nationwide, and 2.7 million of them (36%) are euthanized. Adopting a pet opens up space in shelters. Open space in shelters allows for more abused animals to find a safe home.
