We have taken much care and attention in the designing and testing of this App. It is our sincere desire to present these CDs and Sheet Music in a simple way and a very affordable price for your listening enjoyment. Pieter Heykoop was born on October 11, 1960 in Dordrecht. At a young age, his musical talent and interest in the organ became apparent. At the age of 6 he received his first organ lessons from Bart van den Berg. He then studied with Cor Visser, the then organist of the Grote Kerk in Dordrecht. Also Jan Bonefaas, organist of the Grote Kerk in Gorinchem and internationally renowned organist Ben van Oosten were among his teachers. At the age of 15 he was appointed as the permanent organist of one of the Reformed Churches in his home town. Since 1986, Pieter Heykoop has been organist of the Reformed Congregation in his hometown of Yerseke, where he plays the beautiful 3-keyboard Van den Heuvel organ. He has been a regular accompanist to Mannenkoor Ethan in Yerseke. Subsequently he was organist of Mannenkoor Elim in 's-Gravenpolder. Since 2009 he has been the permanent organist of the Mixed Choir Yerseke. In January 2015, Heykoop was appointed organist of the Chr. Urk Fisherman's Choir Crescendo and in the same year he became (again) permanent organist of Mannenkoor Ethan in Yerseke. His 40th anniversary as an organists was celebrated with great interest on January 2, 2016 in the Grote of St. Laurenskerk in Rotterdam. Pieter Heykoop is a much sought-after organist for singing and organ nights in the Netherlands and abroad. He has played numerous impressive organs in France, England, Germany, Luxembourg, Scotland, Austria, the Czech Republic, Canada, U.S.A., Israel and South Africa, among others.
He has released many CDs with organ improvisations, sing-a-longs and choral singing. A large number of organ arrangements are, by his hand and under his edition, available on sheet music. His playing is often characterized by ingenuity and sensitivity.
