Plates Plus is the officially recognised electronic logbook for Tasmanian learner drivers.
Plates Plus lets you easily record your driving practice and track your progress.
Plates Plus features include:
- Officially recognised replacement for the paper logbook by the Department of State Growth.
- Press start/stop at the beginning and end of your journey and the app will record the number of driving minutes.
- Lock your phone and put it away while you drive and the app will keep recording.
- Manually add trips if you’ve forgotten to hit start.
- Track your practice totals (day hours, night hours if applicable, and total hours).
- Progress bars on the home page measure progress against the mandatory hours.
- Calculate credit hours automatically (e.g. 2-for-1 driving lessons and participation in RYDA).
- Carry over your previously recorded hours from your paper logbook.
- Available for use offline is insufficient data or in a ‘dead spot’. The app will sync data when next open and connected to the internet.
- Automatically back up your practice data in case your lose or break your phone. You won’t lose track of how many hours you’ve completed.
- No account or app is required for supervisors, only learner drivers need the app.
- Submit your completed logbook to the Department of State Growth.
To register for the app you must hold a Tasmanian-issued learner licence (or temporary paper learner licence).
