Want to be more sustainable, but don't know how?
The challenge is simple:
1. Submit pictures of everyday sustainable actions.
2. Track your CO2 emissions reductions and rack up points.
3. Redeem points for rewards such as eco-friendly products or giftcards to hundreds of B-Corp companies like Patagonia and Ben&Jerry’s.
What is our mission?
We want to show everyone that living sustainably can be easy, fun, and even rewarding. We want to debunk the myth that you have to spend a lot of time and money in order to live sustainably.
How is this possible?
Sustainability goes hand in hand with efficiency - by wasting less food, using less water, and refilling a bottle instead of buying single-use plastics, you’re saving money for yourself and for the University. Did you also know it costs Princeton over three times more to send waste to the landfill than to the recycling plant?
Who can participate?
Only Princeton students, faculty, and staff may participate.
How long does this contest run?
We start tallying points April 1st at 6am and we close the contest April 10th at 11:59pm, hand in hand with Earth Month. You may sign up anytime before or during this time period, so let your friends know!
How do I earn a reward?
You must fill out the completion survey by April 10th at 11:59pm in order to receive your award. The survey will be sent out on April 7th. Check out the full reward breakdown at ecotracker.org.
Thank you to the Princeton University Office of Sustainability and to the High Meadows Foundation Sustainability Fund for funding our Earth Month pilot.
