Project Power by the American Diabetes Association in partnership with CVS Health is an innovative type 2 diabetes risk reduction program.
The American Diabetes Association® (ADA) is the nation’s leading voluntary health organization fighting to bend the curve on the diabetes epidemic and help people living with diabetes thrive. The American Diabetes Association’s (ADA’s) Project Power in partnership with CVS Health is an initiative with the aim to help adults and youth identify and lower their risk for diabetes or manage the disease.
Offered in-person or virtually by HabitNu, Project Power is an innovative program from the ADA that raises diabetes awareness and provides diabetes risk reduction education and services to people with diabetes and prediabetes nationwide.
Project Power program promotes making healthy food choices, increasing physical activity, and building family and peer support. Participants will focus on reducing weight through a highly interactive environment that incorporates positive lifestyle modification support, including stress reduction. Health coaches will work closely with participants in small groups to help them break old habits, create new ones, set attainable goals, and keep them motivated.
Project Power participants will access highly engaging digital tools such as the Project Power app to monitor their progress and help them stay on track. The app includes an easy-to-use food diary, weight and activity tracker connectivity, a secure discussion forum, short animated educational videos, coach/participant communication, and automated alerts and notifications.
Project Power is here to help make living healthy second nature for those living with prediabetes and type 2 diabetes.
